The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has drawn its attention to the threats issued by an individual named Ajay Yadav against Shyam Kumar Yadav, a journalist with Aapan Daily based in Siraha, over a published news report.

According to the FNJ Siraha Chapter, Shyam Kumar Yadav was threatened at his residence following the publication of a video news report related to smuggling. The individual issuing the threats, Ajay Yadav, is currently in police custody.

If anyone has objections to a news report, they can seek a lawful resolution. However, threatening a journalist instead is a condemnable act against the press.

Therefore, the FNJ calls on the concerned authorities to conduct an impartial investigation into the incident and take legal action against Ajay Yadav.
