The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has been drawn to the incident involving the use of abusive language and harassment against journalist Sanjay Mishra on the social media platform, Facebook.

According to the FNJ Rautahat Branch, this incident occurred via a Facebook account named "I support prabhu" in response to a news report written regarding the resignation of a Secretariat Member of the Aam Janata Party.

If there are grievances regarding a news report, there are established legal procedures and methods for redress. Instead of following those channels, attacking an individual's social dignity and reputation is not only condemnable but is also a social crime.

The Federation demands that the concerned authorities investigate this incident, initiate legal proceedings against the guilty, and assist the press in exercising its constitutional rights.
