Day One:
September 3, Sunday
International participants to arrive
15:00 -16:00    FNJ Press Conference
16:00               Meeting with Speaker of the House of Representatives (Fixed – Parliament House -Singadarbar)

Day Two:
September 4, Monday
(Meetings to take place at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Kathmandu)

Session One
08:00 - 9:30     Meeting between the international participants, FNJ and coordination committee

  • to discuss the mission agenda (30 minutes)
  • to discuss the mission strategy (60 minutes)

09:30 - 10:00   Breakfast

10:00 – 11:00  Meeting between the international participants sharing the areas of discussion and the role of participants in the mission                  
                       
11:00 - 11:30   Registration

Session Two
Moderators:   Jesper Højberg and Mahendra Bista
11:30 – 12:30  Background paper presentation and discussion
12:30 – 13:30 Lunch Break
13:30 – 16:00  Paper presentation and discussion

      • Policy reform

(a) Government Media / Institution (20 minutes)
(b) Overall policy (including private print and electronic media – print, Radio, TV, online, women in media: 10 minutes for each issue)

      • Rights and safety of working journalists (15 minutes)

16:00 – 16:30  Tea Break
16:00               Meeting with Prime Minister (fixed)

16:30 – 17:00 Form a group of international participants to visit senior government officials and other
                        (Who is going to visit whom?)

17:30 - 18:30 Meeting with David Johnson, acting head of OHCHR

18:00 – 20:30 Dinner reception by FNJ

Day Three:
September 5, Tuesday
07:30 - 12:30   Meeting with government officials and Political Leaders
7:30              1. UML – Madhav Nepal (Residence, fixed)
10:00            2. Nepali Congress (Democratic) Sher Bahadur Deuba (Residence, fixed)
3. Deputy Prime Minister (Oli)
4. Maoist – Prachanda
Participants will have their lunch depending on the pattern of the appointment schedule

14:30 – 16:30  High Level Media Commission

17:00 – 18:00  High tea meeting with political party spokespersons and media-related leaders

Day Four:
September 6, Wednesday
09:30 - 11:00   Roundtable discussion with FNJ
11:00 - 11:30   Tea break
11:30 - 13:30   Meeting with donors/international community hosted by DanidaHUGOU
14:00 – 16:00  Meeting between international participants for press release
 
Day Fifth:
September 7, Thursday
08:00 - 09:00   Finalization of press release by international participants
09:00 - 09:30   Tea break
09:30 -11:00    Press Conference by international participants, high tea served
11:00 -11:30    High Tea
11:30 -12:30    Project development meetings with national media communities
12:30 -13:30    Lunch
